For California Residents Only: California Proposition 65 Warning
WARNING: Some products may contain chemicals that are known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm.
Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposure to these chemicals from the products they use. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program and publishes the listed chemicals, which includes more than 850 chemicals. In August 2016, OEHHA adopted new regulations, effective on August 30, 2018, which change the information required in Proposition 65 warnings.

Bandwidth: Lowest (typically up to 200 MHzยทkm)
Data Rate: Up to 1 Gbps (Gigabit Ethernet)
Distance: Shortest; typically up to 275 meters (1Gbps)
Application: Older legacy installations
OM2
Core size: 50ยตm
Bandwidth: Improved bandwidth (typically 500 MHzยทkm)
Data Rate: Up to 1 Gbps
Distance: Up to 550 meters (1Gbps)
Application: Mid-range installations
OM3
Core size: 50ยตm (laser-optimized)
Bandwidth: High bandwidth (2,000 MHzยทkm)
Data Rate: Up to 10 Gbps
Distance: Up to 300 meters (10Gbps)
Application: High-speed data center backbone
OM4
Core size: 50ยตm (advanced laser-optimized)
Bandwidth: Highest bandwidth (4,700 MHzยทkm)
Data Rate: 10โ100 Gbps and higher
Distance: Up to 550 meters (10Gbps), up to 150 meters (40/100Gbps)
Application: High-performance data center networks requiring maximum speed and distance
In summary, the main distinctions among OM1โOM4 fibers involve core size, bandwidth, supported distances, and data transmission speed capabilities.
