For California Residents Only: California Proposition 65 Warning
WARNING: Some products may contain chemicals that are known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm.
Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposure to these chemicals from the products they use. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) administers the Proposition 65 program and publishes the listed chemicals, which includes more than 850 chemicals. In August 2016, OEHHA adopted new regulations, effective on August 30, 2018, which change the information required in Proposition 65 warnings.

This OM1 SC to ST simplex fiber cable provides dependable optical connectivity for legacy and enterprise fiber networks, telecom rooms, and structured cabling environments. Featuring a secure SC connector on one end and a durable bayonet-style ST connector on the other, this cable is ideal for linking standard fiber panels to legacy ST-based equipment in installations that use 62.5µm OM1 fiber. The rugged 3.0 mm orange jacket protects the optical fiber while maintaining flexibility for clean routing inside racks, cabinets, and network enclosures.
| Fiber Type | Jacket Color | Core Size | Typical Speed | Distance | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OM1 | Orange | 62.5 µm | 1 Gbps | ~275 m | Legacy networks |
| OM2 | Orange | 50 µm | 1 Gbps | ~550 m | Enterprise networks |
| OM3 | Aqua | 50 µm (laser optimized) | 10 Gbps | ~300 m | Modern data centers |
| OM4 | Erika Violet | 50 µm (advanced laser optimized) | 10–100 Gbps+ | ~550 m (10G) ~150 m (40/100G) |
High-performance data centers |
The primary differences between OM1, OM2, OM3, and OM4 multi-mode fiber involve core size, bandwidth capability, supported transmission distance, and maximum data rate. Higher-grade multimode fibers support faster speeds and longer reach for modern high-bandwidth networking environments. OM1 is best suited for legacy multimode networks and shorter-distance applications where 62.5µm fiber infrastructure is already in place.
